A nice warm welcome. The room, a single one, was pretty standard and did included a chair. I accidentally popped the drain cover off in the shower stall and even an area that no one would check it was spotless! So if the cleaner they use goes out of their way to even ensure the shower drain is spotless then you can guarantee the bedding, towels, room etc are equally as spotless. This is a small hotel/pub/restaurant which seems to be quite popular but I didn't hear any excessive noise as I don't think it attracts a rowdy crowd more like locals for a meal and a drink. I didn't try any of the evening meals but they do look really tempting. A lovely cooked breakfast and you do get a choice. Dining room even on the tables that weren't laid out for guests still had fresh flowers on them, a nice view out of the window and even the window boxes were in full bloom. Really nice attention to details. Perfect location for both the train station, Morrisons, Tesco etc and the town centre. Internet worked perfectly. You can get inside either through the pub or the locked side door. The fob key for that door works well and so did the room key. I would like to say that right next door is a tiny theatre called "Skipton Little Theatre" and I think it sits around 100 people, I went to see a performance and it was just such a nice atmosphere so check that out to see if there is anything on when you stay,

The railway is in my opinion very well located just outside Skipton centre a five minute stroll either by road or over the very picturesque bridge over the canal. It is directly adjacent to Skipton's Little theatre, virtually next door to a very big Tesco store and a very attractive church and grounds. Breakfast is very good and very enjoyable. I had a SMALL single room but it is perfectly good for a night or two, I have stayed in a larger room and that was excellent. It was a Monday so the restaurant in the pub was not open for evening food, but again from my last visit I remember it was really good. All in all I would have no hesitation booking again. It has changed hands very recently so it will be interesting to see how the new owners get on, it is my understanding that existing staff will stay, so hopefully the high standards set will continue... Cheers Alan :-)

Stayed here for four nights. The food here is excellent and to get a table you need to book in advance. We only managed to eat one night here as they were fully booked on others. Breakfast was good, full English had everything you expect and of good quality. Also smoked haddock and poached eggs and great omelettes available. Choice of three real ales on hand pump. The location of the pub is easy walking distance to the town and its facilities. Parking is in an adjacent street and there may not always be spaces available. We felt this pub offers good value for money. It is very popular with locals and gets busy every night. On our last morning we discovered the landlady had sold and was handing over the pub to new owners that day. Hopefully they will keep existing staff on as they were all friendly and welcoming.

The room was lovely triple aspect and sunny, also you could not hear the pub underneath at all. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The included breakfast was piping hot, cooked fresh, and very tasty . For a smallish venue, the range of breakfast options was excellent. We also had an evening meal there which again was really delicious.. I could not fault this place and would visit again and also highly recommend it to anyone. I would also point out that the location is excellent. A few minutes walk from the railway station. Tescos and Morrisons are right on the doorstep if you need fuel, etc. Town centre, canal and bus station again a few minutes walk its so well situated. Thank you, Railway. we really enjoyed our stay

Conveniently located in the centre of Skipton this pub/restaurant/hotel was a great find. Don’t be put off by the plain exterior as this traditional pub-hotel is so friendly and welcoming. It is also very good value for money while providing good service, food and real ale. We will be returning when we can either to stay and/or to eat and drink we liked it that much. So handy for the market, cafés, canal walks and boat trips and interesting shops. Don’t be put off by the busy nearby supermarkets they quieten down in the evening and a bonus is they provide a handy place to pull the car into for free, albeit limited, waiting.
